Frequently Asked Questions

We usually perform as a trio or a quartet. Our caller is the lead for any songs then steps off stage to call the dances.

If you book a trio you will have 3 musicians for any songs then 2 on stage doing the ceilidh music. With the quartet you have 4 musicians for songs then 3 for the ceilidh.

We regularly provide a ceilidh and disco package and soloist for the ceremony.

We can also offer a budget friendly ceilidh with just a solo caller with backing who can then perform songs during the breaks.

We can also, on request, perform with a bodhrán player, percussionist, bass players and many more. Reach out if you have specific requests.

Please note, Australia is a BIG country so the offerings in your area may differ slightly but if you want something specific, we can make it work.

We have done ceilidhs all over Australia.

  • New South Wales- Sydney, Southern Highlands, Hunter Valley, Newcastle, Coffs Harbour, Byron Bay.
  • Victoria - Melbourne, Geelong, Yarra Valley, Gippsland, Daylesford, Bendigo, Ballarat.
  • Tasmania -  Launceston, Hobart, Burnie, Deloraine, Evandale, Weymouth, Devonport, St Helens.
  • Queensland - Brisbane, Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast, Makay, Central Highlands.

Our musicians have also performed around the ACT, South Australia and internationally.

We understand Australia is a big country and we are happy to travel anywhere for a fun ceilidh!

We typically do alternating sets of songs and ceilidh dancing.

For the ceilidh element we play stomping folk tunes to get everyone dancing.

For the songs we have a huge collection of Celtic tunes (traditional songs and covers) as well as a wide selection of well-known covers and wedding bangers.

Yes! The majority of events we perform at have a only a handful of guests who have done any ceilidh dancing before, most are completely new to ceilidh dancing.

However there’s often a mix of abilities present & we tailor each ceilidh to suit the dancing level of the guests, starting with very easy dances and progressing through as required.

How much we charge varies depending on the date, location and timings but as a guide, from $1,500 plus travel for our experienced caller and backing tracks and from $2,500 plus travel for a ceilidh band with live musicians, caller.

We can also offer Ceilidh & Disco packages, ceremony music, sound and lighting hire and much more.

Yes – you’re welcome to come to one of our public events – contact us for details of our upcoming events.

Our standard price is based on 2 x 45 minute sets of dancing and 2 x 45 minute sets of live music with a 15 min break in between, up to 11pm for evening events, though later on request.

Send us your event details & we’ll suggest the best timings. Our tried and tested formula for longer events is alternating sets of live music and ceilidh from 6.00-10pm and disco from 10pm – 11pm.

This video will give you an idea of how we take people through a dance at an event.

80% of these people had never danced ceilidh before and were all able to do a progressive dance with just a couple of run throughs.
